You have several options without owning a caravan or camper: rental caravans and PODs for a compact camping experience, mobile homes for more fixed living space, nearby apartments, and a rental motorhome if you want to travel in your accommodation. The best choice depends mainly on guest numbers, preferred comfort, pets and winter travel. Availability, equipment and the binding price must be confirmed for the individual unit.
Rental caravans: closest to traditional camping
The campsite has several types of rental caravan. Two larger caravans are listed at €99 per night plus €29 final cleaning. The “Small” on C10 is listed at €65 per night plus €29 cleaning and includes a television, satellite equipment, gas heating, a refrigerator and an awning with a small kitchen. The Explorer is described at €89 per night plus €29 cleaning.
Equipment and pet rules differ between models. Dogs are not allowed in every rental caravan; use of a designated unit is possible only by agreement. Bring your own bedding, including pillow, duvet and mattress covers.
PODs: compact and weatherproof
The PODs are simple fixed sleeping units for guests without camping equipment. They are offered from €74 per night plus final cleaning. A 140 × 200 centimetre double bed and a bunk bed with two sleeping places are listed; the upper bunk is narrow.
Pets are not permitted in the PODs. Families should therefore check whether the sleeping arrangement suits the children’s ages and whether the compact space is right for the length of stay.
Mobile homes: more fixed living space
Two mobile homes are part of the rental range. The published rate is €129 per night plus €39 final cleaning. Dogs are not allowed, and guests also need to bring their own bedding.
A mobile home may suit guests who want to combine a campsite setting with a more fixed living environment. Before booking, check the occupancy, sleeping places and equipment of the actual unit rather than assuming that photos of another unit apply.
Apartments: staying close to the campsite
Dümmer Perle apartments are nearby at Zum Fischerhafen 22. The options listed are an apartment for up to four guests, a small apartment for one or two guests and a lake-view apartment for up to four guests.
This option suits visitors who want Dümmer See and the campsite environment but prefer a conventional apartment. For dining information at the same location, see the Dümmer Perle restaurant.
Rental motorhome: vehicle and accommodation together
The rental motorhome is for guests who want not only a place to stay but an equipped vehicle for a touring holiday. The published model has four sleeping places, a maximum permitted weight of 3,500 kilograms, an awning, bike carrier and touring equipment. Price, deposit, handover and current availability are confirmed individually.
Driving-licence requirements, the rental contract, insurance excess and vehicle handover are part of this choice. Ask for the complete current conditions before planning travel stages.
Pets, bedding and winter water
A winter rental may still be possible, but the current restrictions must be confirmed explicitly. For context, see Guest information.
- PODs, the Small, Explorer and mobile homes are listed as pet-free.
- Dogs are possible only in selected rental caravans and by prior agreement.
- Bring pillow, duvet and mattress covers.
- When there is a frost risk, fresh water at the pitch may be shut off; affected toilets, showers and taps may then be unavailable.
How families can choose the right unit
Start with three questions: how many proper sleeping places do you need, do you need a pet-friendly unit, and do you want maximum fixed living space or an intentionally compact camping experience? Then compare cleaning, bedding, the sanitary setup and check-out time.
The current Stay cards are the main source for equipment and booking paths. This article was reviewed on 19 July 2026; prices and availability can change. If anything is unclear, ask Reception to confirm the exact unit.
